In the Gospel of St. John, What is meant by "the word was God"?

Are we to take this reference literally? I doubt it. Is St. John suggesting that God attends the (Lacanian) symbolic order? Or is it a way by St. John to explain to the reader (in the course of the account given in the Gospel) how the Word (to be read as "the Old Testament") relinquished its position as the embodiment of the divine being to Jesus Christ the man, who embodied the Lord through being man, and proved it through being crucified then resurrected?

Should junk food be banned in the USA?

They should really make junk food sooo expensive that most people won't want to purchase it. Fruits and vegetables are so tasty and so good for you. I think people are just giving their children too much processed food and not enough "real" food.

What's the best way to get rid of them? I get 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night, but does the time I go to bed affect it too? I also know that it can't be because of age, I'm pretty young. Best case scenario -- go to the waiver wire, and see whos been producing recently, and pick that player up. If there is really no better option, then I would go with Chris Chambers. Oakland's defense isn't stellar, and Chris Chambers is pretty talented, and will probably get a few looks from Rivers. St Louis's offense is just awful lately, and Avery has been extremely quiet for a long time. I wouldn't expect much to change next week. you don't have to use any other software!! Just put your ipod into your computer (make sure your itunes will let you use it as a hardrive). Go to my computer, find your ipod. You need to make sure all hidden files are visible (tools, folder options, view, etc.). then go to ipod control, music, and there your music will be! just like that, no need to download any suspicious programs off the internet. your music will have weir names like just letters and such but make sure you copy and past into your itunes folder rather than just moving it, a lot safer, just in case anything goes wrong.

How do I help my dog enjoy walks more?

I take my 7 month old pom/chi cross out daily, weather permitting, but she just doesn't seem to like it much most of the time. She's long haired, and I don't take her out when it's cold or rainy or dark (she uses pads), so I don't think she's uncomfortable. I use a buddy belt harness with soft liners so she isn't getting her throat pulled or anything. She even has soft leather memory foam shoes so her pads aren't getting scratched up. She's used to waking on a leash and in shoes-she's fine with it all inside. And she has tons of energy-she'll zoom around the house like a madwoman . But outside she just snuffles around a little and wants to be carried lol. I don't understand it-I mean granted she didn't start going out for a long time between waiting until she'd had her last puppy shot + 3 weeks (per vet instruction) and waiting until it was warm enough tha she didn't just shake and cry, but most dogs love going out. How can I show her it's OK? She even seems to WANT to go out but once she's actually out just isn't into it

The chain 1 is a turning chain and the 200 stitches is just letting you know how many stitches there are across that way you can have an accurate number of stitches which might make a differences in some patterns. When I began to crochet I counted to make sure I had the right number of stitches. When I didn't I somehow left out or added stitches so my afghans were different lengths on both sides. I don't have to count as much now that I'm a little better but those numbers were a great help.

Is collection finally closed?

I had a collection that I paid off years ago. Suddenly I got a letter from a lawyers office representing Pinnacle Credit Services LLC. They were trying to claim this old debt once again. I sent a certified letter to the law office and the collection agency to verify debt, and threaten suit if they did not correct records etc. The law office sent me a reply that the account had been closed and placed on cease and desist status. Can I consider this enough evidence that I am in the right and the account is truly closed to future collections on it?

I'm not particularly against it, but I understand why many are. A big issue is that based on DNA, insurance companies and even employers can know your predisposition to particular illnesses. They can (or at least will soon) be able to tell you whether you will get such diseases as cancer or heart disease by a certain age. With that knowledge, imagine a person applying for health insurance and being told "no" or at least being charged astronomical premium because the company KNOWS that by a certain age they are going to acquire a very expensive illness. ok this may sound a little crazy to some but i have been itching all the **** over my body!! I am about 12-14 weeks pregnant and i heard it was normal. Yes, Lidstrom is a freak of nature. Dr and Modano's careers are pretty much over, though. I think that the Wings shouldn't have picked up Modano. I have an MLA formatted paper due, and after writing the paper I was alerted I needed a title page, which shouldn't be a problem, BUT when I creat a blank page at the top of my paper to add the title page, I cannot figure out how to not have a page number on that title page. Possible neurological problem with horse?

Just recently, my breeding stock paint mare, pebbles, age 18, began displaying odd symptoms. Actually, it was this morning that they really showed up. We called the vet out because she was colic-y, so he did the whole treat for colic thing. However, she also had non-colic symptoms, such as poor balance, odd ear placement ( like this: \_-- <- those would be her ears.), a lot of head shaking and eye nystagmus. The vet believes it could possibly be EPM, so he's gonna have her tested for that. I noticed last night, and again this morning, that the hair on the inside of left her ear is wet, as if it were coming from the inside of her actual ear. Then i noticed that her eyes were moving involuntarily to the left. I'm thinking, maybe it's the liquid in the inner ear, like we humans have that keep us balanced. when my father built his garage he piped the floor in 6 zones on manifolds for in floor heating. He has a wood boiler and an oil boiler. I know about basic plumbing and understand how these systems work, but i would like to be sure. Is this how to plumb this? Boiler hot teed to expansion tank and mixing valve "hot", mixing valve "mix" to circulator pump to "hot" manifold to floor to cold manifold to mixing valve "cold" AND boiler cold, with the circulator being controlled by a thermostat? I have about 200 photos of cars I photographed on a highway while I was driving. I want to embed keywords and descriptions in them without having to repeat the same actions for each file since the description and keywords are the same for all of them. Puppy coughs/regurgitates everyday. Breathing in throat is also pronounced.?

My puppy is 4 months old. He coughs and regurgitates every day- but its always so small that he just swallows it. It sounds like he is congested when this happens and that something is stuck in his throat. His breathing in his throat is very pronounced and you can see his throat going in and out most of the time. We took him to the vet but he wasnt concerned. Since we got him he also makes noises sometimes in his throat that almost sounds like a washing machine. Aside from the regurgitation he is a very happy and active puppy. 2 weeks ago I got the number of a guy who I knew from school. He was the head boy and everyone knew him, what you could say a local celebrity. I'm wanting to get a tattoo for my son...and future children. I've been thinking about getting my son's handprint, that way later on I can get my other children's handprints also. I am in my Sopre Year of High School (10th grade) and i am really beginning to lose reason in life because of the fact that 90% of it is pointless busy work. Everyday when I get home I record my own music, I have created amazing animations with literally over a hundred characters, and I have learned a lot about my interests and even studied on my own For instance I have researched such topics as the Renaissance, Leonardo Da Vinci, The Ten Dimensions, Albert Einstein, and a lot more. However in school, even if you do learn something it has no purpose or long term value, then on the other hand, you don't remember half of the material because it is so boring. Anyways, just what is the point of school if your just locked up inside of a small room crammed with other kids and missing out on the rest of the worlds wonders?

Did I really run the light?

I got tunnel vision because I was too tired while driving. It had rained a little bit earlier that day. It was 3 am. I saw that I had about 30 feet to go to the intersection when I noticed the light was red, so I braked and my car hydroplaned and I lost control. I skidded all the way up to the light and my car went about halfway over the crosswalk. Some flashes went off so I know the camera took pictures. Did it get pictures of my license plate since I wasnt in the intersection? If the police review it will they cancel it since I attempted to stop and I lost control of my car. My father has been an alcoholic my whole life. Hes been in & out of my life since I was a little girl and I have always been the one to defend him and believe in him..but I'm starting to loose hope. He was in jail for 6 months 3 years ago for multiple drunk driving incidents & has been in and out of a few rehabs since and I was under the impression he was getting better. I'm pregnant, with his first grandchild ever. We seemed like we were getting closer for the first time in my life, just a few months ago I wrote him a long e-mail telling him how scared I have been about loosing him and how his alcoholism affects me and that is the FIRST time I have ever reveled how I felt to him about any of this, all he wrote back was "I'm sorry I dont know how to respond to this." & since then hes been more distant..when he does call he wants to get off the phone right away and I even called and left a message for him last week that he was going to be having a GRANDDAUGHTER and he didnt call me back for 2 days. I just found out from my grandmother that hes in trouble again. Got into another accident with his work truck drunk & to make matters worse fled the accident scene. I know hes going to go back to jail, everyone told him how lucky he was to only have to go 6mos last time with all the charges he had against him. It truly breaks my heart that he most likely wont be there for the birth of my first baby, & didnt even care enough to think about that when he got behind the wheel drunk..AGAIN. I feel like I'm ready for the first time in my life to give him the cold sholder, hes really hurt me & it seems hes never going to change no matter what the cirstances. But at the same time I know how much that would hurt him, I've always been "Daddy's little girl" no matter how disfunctional hes been, hes told me before that I'm his only reason for living. Should i have a knee arthroscopy?

I've having problems with my knee for the past year or so. I was kicking some heavy timbers with the side of my foot to straighten them up when I felt a sharp pain in my knee. I knew I messed something up. I made a doctors Apt. that same day, and by the time I got to the doctors office I couldn't walk. They put me in a wheelchair and wheeled me up to the Dr. office. The doctor had me get some X-rays gave me some pain pills and advised me to stay home for a week or so. Oh he also gave me a shoot of cortisone. after a few weeks the pain went away and the x-rays came back negative. A few months down the road the pain came back and again I could hardly walk. I went back to the doctor and he gave me another shot and some more pills. Again the pain somewhat went away. Let me ad that I am a superintendent for a construction company so I have to walk around the job-site all day. Lately its been acting up more and more. we finally had on MRI done and I went back to the DR. to go over the results. He told me that I have some broken cartilage, which is bruising the bone, and also thinning cartilage. He told me that I could either have a knee arthroscopy or just live with the pain. He said the knee arthroscopy might help and might not. Since my cartilage is already thinning I am concerned about taking out any more causing my knee to be bone on bone. I am wondering if a pain management plan might be better for me at this time than the arthroscopy. As I am only 31 years old, and I have a felling I am going to have knee replacement in the future. I guess bad knees run in the family. my dad is 55 and he recently had both of his knees replaced. Any suggestions you might have to help me make up my mind would be appreciated
