Does anyone know what the principle religion of the Victorian era was/the religious situation?

I am writing a dissertation, and am led to believe it was mainly evangelical, but there seems to be many other religions prevalent also. Can anyone tell me whta the fundamental religion was/how closely it was followed? I would be soooooo grateful!!!
