I am leaving for Thailand this Saturday. I will be mainly staying in Bangkok. My ticket is non refundable ?

and they wont allow any changes. Do you think I should risk it or lose my airfare. What would you do? Can I stay out of these areas, is there any threat of bombs, I realise Thai's are not usually violent people and I am travelling with a native Thai. I have pressure from family and boyfriend to stay in Australia.
