UK job absentee-ism remains stubbornly high, so, "Govt calls for more job rehab & firms say no, no, no!!???"

Typical of this stupid government! When are they going to realise that employers only employ people to do a job correctly and therefore profitably? Having been an employer for over 35 years i can only say i am glad to be out of it now, the red tape and employment laws restrict the true growth and potential of businesses. This oncoming recession will most likely have a detrimental effect on the countrys economy but it could also have a very positive effect on employment - people might actually appreciate having work and therefore be less likely to spend their paid time messing around on the internet or 'throwing sickies'. Is it any wonder that it's the public sector employers who offer workplace rehabilitation? No, it's not - after all they are just spending tax payers money not anything out of their own pockets!
