Humans Susceptibility to Make Errors?
Reason is tied directly to language. The only way we can use reason is by using symbols (language) to represent ideas. Language is finite and thus unable to provide a basis for reason to function perfectly. The result is that we cannot achieve a perfect state using reason so we make mistakes. As for any connection to being created in the image of a perfect God, that fact does not insure perfection. I can create a clay figurine in the image of my wife, but they are not the same. One has characteristics of the other but is lacking in comparison. Language is one of the distinguishing human traits that makes us unique and I believe that is "part" of what being made in the image of God means. But he did not choose to make us gods. We are not equal to our creator in the same way that the clay figurine is not equal to the person after whom it was modled.
