Can a infant be allergic to formula all of a sudden?

My son is 11 months old and was having projectile vomiting but that has ped. Now he has stomach cramps and diarrhea. Taking him to the doc in the morning and also taking a stool sample so they can check for blood in his stool. Have not seen any rashes on his body.
